Software to Automatically Straighten Verticals

If you previously read my blog post about the importance of straightening verticals for real estate photography, go read it now.

I was doing some research today and ran across a program called ShiftN which is a tool that automatically straightens verticals! Even better, it's FREE. Sadly, it's Windows-only, but still that's not a major deal-breaker.

I have not yet had a chance to try it myself, but figured some of you might want to try it out and share feedback.

Comment by Michael Basch on December 23, 2010 at 3:02pm: Nathan - I've used it on occassion. It's not a bad utility. I've even tried their "batch" utility to speed up the editing process. Sometimes, with a number of crazy shots, it created something off-beat. If most of your angles are close to normal, this tool will save you quite a bit of time!

it does cut down the original image in the cropping stage and may shave off some

important elements of your photo.
