I just updated my portfolio. I use smugmug.com to store my clients photos. My clients love that they can download directly from this site. I recommend this site as another place to store your work. This link is to my new portfolio...take a look and let me know what you all think:

Hey Zach-

First of all, man those are some amazing pictures! I love the 2nd one, of the bathroom.

The other thing I wanted to say is that we just added a new feature to make downloading images easier for your clients. The client panel now shows thumbnails for all images on the tour (according to the permissions you've set) and lets people individually download small or large versions.

Let me know what you think; it might save you the step of having to use SmugMug.

Well that is fantastic! You guys are on the ball as usual.

I noticed this feature the other day while checking on some stats, I like it Alan.

Zach, that is an extremely nice portfolio and set of images. I'm still working on collecting enough "wow" shots to use in a portfolio, I only have 5-6 that I really want to use just yet. My target number is 25 and when I get busy I'm going to cycle those out with new ones every 3-6 months but a few will probably stay forever.

Where do you view the "client panel?"

Very nice portfolio Zachary. Are you using HDR or storbes? I seem to detect a little of both.

I shoot 100% HDR...never use strobes.

Zach, Your photography is awesome! I remember the HDR discussion before - but also think you spend some time in PS making them shine as they do? I don't see a response to Carlisle's's question about 'where is the client panel?'

Seems to me like Zach's portfolio is a collection of various properties, whereas the client panel, when I can find it, relates just to the stills relating to a specific tour. Am I right about that? In which case - the client panel feature doesn't really replace an overall portfolio such as SmugMug?

There's a link to the "Client Panel" next to every tour in the tour list view of the admin.

Thanks Hamish...it's really hit and miss. I have a real hard time with lighting and can't seem to figure it out. I find that shooting in the late afternoon is best but then one loses all the cool shadows inside the house. I find that under harsh differences between inside and outside light I need to bracket up to 9 different exposures.

Here's a trick you probably know but it has taken over from HDR imaging for me and is much faster workflow - although it is certainly less 'information' to work with. In Layers, make two copies - name one 'Dark' and one 'light'.
Use Image Adjustments - Curves on each of them to make desired areas lighter or darker, respectively, as desired. Overlap them in turn, and use the eraser tool (in percentage opacity increments) to bring out the intended effects - and then flatten - really great and I use it all the time in all photography. More advanced - do likewise with any adjustment tools you feel like.

I also sometimes bracket to 9 when there is snow outside...pain in the Pano.
