Google Places http://places.google.com/business
This could be the best 10 minutes you ever invest in your company. Google owns search and Google owns places. Google Places are at the top of the search results whenever a location is part of the search. This is a great way to compete against the National companies since they do not have a local address.
See how you rank locally with this cool tool:
A few key things when you enter your business into Places:
- Pick at least one of the recommended Key Terms suggested. Unfortunately, “real estate photographer” is not one of the terms. If you do “Portrait” or “wedding photography” add those. “Real Estate Agent” is not a term either. “Photographer” is a term. After that you can choose any terms you like up to 5. Here are a few I recommend based on Google Adwords search traffic tool: “real estate photographer”,“real estate virtual tours”, “virtual tours photography”, “virtual 360 tours”, “virtualtour”, “virtual tours”, “virtual tours houses”,“virtual tours of houses”, ”professional photographer”, “tour factory”.
- Service Area: since all of you provide photography across a geographic area, check the box Yes, this business serves customers at their locations. Add your geographic coverage area. This can be either miles from your Address or you can list area served. I would try both but my instinct says to try Areas Served first.
- Photos: this is where you need to pull your best images add them to your profile.
- Video: Create a YouTube login if you do not have one and upload a video tour. Add the link to your Places profile.
