TourBuzz Service Update: Introducing Custom Tour Links

Now by popular demand! We have made some significant improvements to allow you to customize the tour menu items:

  • Customize the schools link on a per-tour basis - this is great to point directly to a school district page when our default search-by-zip didn't work. This should also allow our Canadian customers to provide schools info for their tours.
  • Customize the flyer link on a per-tour basis - if you are doing custom flyers for customers, you can now link both the…

We're excited to share with you a wonderful new design we're calling International, inspired by the International style which has these design principles:

The One Man Band

I have been a one man band since the start of my business three years ago and I wouldn't have it any other way. It has worked out well for me. That being said, I am very busy and I need to cut down on time spent in certain areas of my business, so that I have family and me time. How do you make that time?

A major hangup for me is my website. I tried to teach myself how to code and create a nice site, but I was never really happy. That…

Trigger Happy Camera Remote (for iOS) on KickStarter

KickStarter is an awesome site for "crowd-funded" projects. Basically you pre-order something that is in the concept phase, and if enough people pre-order (to meet a set sales goal), your pre-order will be "charged" and the company will go make the product. If there isn't enough interest, you are never charged and the project dies.

I ran across a project for building an iOS Camera Remote, which looks really great for doing a wide variety of things like controlling bracketing, time…

TourBuzz Service Update: Video Clip Improvements

Since the launch of our tactical video clips feature a couple of months ago, there have been two major complaints, both of which we are happy to announce should be much better with today's release.

  1. Video Clips now pre-load in the background, meaning that when the tour advances to the video it should be a seamless transition. We have additionally increased the buffer size (which apparently has a default of 0.1 seconds, not too useful!) which should eliminate the case where the…

Tour Factory Virtual Tour loading times 30+ seconds

I just ran a tour loading time test against Tour Factory. TourBuzz tours load in nearly 3 seconds on average. Tour Factory on the other hand took over 10 times as long, over 35 seconds on average! Who waits 30 seconds on the web???

When you are talking to Agents that mention Tour Factory, ask them if they would wait 30 seconds to see a tour?  Let them know your tours load in 3 seconds and that 30 seconds to see a tour is unacceptable on the internet.

Explain to them that…

TourBuzz Service Update: New Hotspot Feature and a few other improvements

A few minor improvements and features are now available:
  • We have added an option to have the Hotspots display their target media on mouseover instead of requiring a click. This option is available as a cascading preference and defaults to Off, which will keep the current behavior of requiring a click to view the image associated with a hotspot.

This works on new skins only at this time (cutout, metro, sleek).

  • The customer edit page now has a link to…
